Living History Encampment : LHE Print E-mail
Written by Steven Lines

The society LHE is run by the Society Living History Coordinator,  which is a post established within the constitution for that purpose.   The present coordinator is Steven Lines.

The society living history coordinator is assisted in his role by the Society Village Crafts Training Thegn,  again being a position established under the constitution for the promotion and training of authentic period crafts within the society.  The present crafts Thegn is Christine Lines.

Both of the above officers have the right and task of appointing people to assist in the running of the entire LHE side of the society.  Such appointments are known as Recognised Training Thegns (Village),  or RTT(V) for short.

These officers are generally known to the society members as the people who will administer village and craft tests,  but they have a much wider remit in that they help run the entire LHE on behalf of the society.  A list of current RTT(V) can be found by following the links to the “LHE team” at the bottom of the page or left.

Below the RTT(V) at group level,  every herred and lethang within the society has a group LHE Thegn.   Where a group leader has not appointed another person to this post then the group leader is deemed to fulfil this role.

Almost all of the rules and regulations pertaining to the LHE side of the society are contained within one document,  “The Village Guide”.  This document can be downloaded by following the links to  “LHE Documents” on the left ;  it covers every aspect of life in the LHE, from setting up the camp,  what to do in it,  and village and craft tests towards promotion.

If you have any queries regarding the LHE side of the society then you should first contact your group LHE Thegn,  and if they cannot help then any RTT(V) should be able assist.  The Society Living History Coordinator and the Society Village Crafts Training Thegn are also always available to answer queries at shows or by email.
